About Us
This website is intended to provide information about the McKinney-Vento Homelessness Assistance Act and the educational rights of children and youth in homeless situations.
Children and youth within the Alpena, Alcona, AMA-ESD, Atlanta, and Hillman Public Schools will be registered under the McKinney Vento (MV) Families in Transition (FIT) Program.
McKinney-Vento Act (MV)
The Federal Act which guarantees rights and services for children and youth lacking stable nighttime residence.
Families in Transition (FIT) Program
The program which supports those eligible under the McKinney-Vento Act.
Alpena Public Schools Consortium
Conglomerate servicing McKinney-Vento related requests for Alpena, Alcona, AMA-ESD, Atlanta, and Hillman Public Schools
